On Sunday Nights

The hermit crabs come out to land,
To mark and pace the mustard sand,
Avoiding dull adult demands
And dip into their social hubs.

Faces dry, they’re sunken, pallid,
Grazing chartreuse new-age salads,
Rhyming textbook English ballads,
These snails and slugs in gastropubs.
